Horse Experiences

What horse experiences can you do in Dubai without riding?

At Crystalline Equine you spend 90 minutes on the ground with two or three horses, in the desert about 20 minutes from Downtown Dubai. You meet them, feed them and sit with them, then do a class beside them: yoga, pilates, meditation or sound. There is no riding at any point and no experience is needed. From AED 199.

The horses are the experience, not the transport

Almost everything involving horses in Dubai is built around sitting on one. This is not. Every session is strictly ground-based, which is a safety decision and also the whole premise: the point is presence beside an animal rather than control of it. Two to three horses are with you, chosen for being calm and comfortable around people. One of them, Atoll, is a retired grand prix show jumper.

What actually happens in the 90 minutes

You arrive at the time the listing shows and start with the horses: time socialising, feeding and petting them, unhurried, before anything else begins. Then you meet your instructor. Then the class, which varies by date and might be yoga, pilates, mat work, guided meditation or crystal singing bowls. Then refreshments and the community social. Groups are capped at 15 so it stays quiet.

Which one to book

Adults book a group experience at AED 199 per person. Children have their own two: Crystalline Kids, 120 minutes for up to 10, and My Little Petitee Pony Experience, 90 minutes for up to two. If you would rather not be in a group at all, Horse Reiki is a private one to one session, 90 minutes, AED 1,500. Everything runs October through May; we pause for the summer to rest the horses from the Dubai heat.
