What should I wear to a session with horses?

Wear athletic clothes you can move in, and closed-toe shoes, which are mandatory around the horses. Mats, blocks and equipment are provided, so there is nothing you need to bring. Sessions are outdoors in the desert outside Dubai, and there are changing facilities on site.

Closed-toe shoes are the one hard rule

Everything at Crystalline Equine is ground-based, which means you are standing on the same ground as the horses. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory for that reason, and it is the one item we will turn nobody away for owning. Trainers are perfect. Beyond that, wear athletic clothes you can stretch, kneel and sit cross-legged in.

What we provide

Mats, blocks and equipment are provided for every class, and towels too. You do not need to bring a mat, props or anything for the practice itself. The site has bathroom and changing facilities, outdoor parking, and indoor and outdoor sitting areas, so you can arrive in whatever you drove in and change when you get here.

Dressing for the season and the hour

Sessions run October through May, when the desert is comfortable, and we pause for the summer to rest the horses from the Dubai heat. Classes sit at either end of the day, so mornings and evenings can be cooler than the middle of the day suggests. A layer you can take off is worth having. Every listing shows its exact start and finish time.
